Edna is an expert in surviving the economy long-haul flight, arriving bright-eyed and bushy tailed to meet her grandchildren on the other side of the world. She takes Pride in cruising for days sniffing out a good deal, ferociously leaping upon a bargain and then maximising and storing up her points to ensure she’s never without lounge access. The second she takes her seat on the plane (ideally a window seat in aisle 29), she manually resets her phone times, swaps into her travel socks and fills her seat pocket with eyemasks, oinments and a giant doughnut of a travel pillow. As soon as the captain switches off the seatbelt light, down her head goes, nose through the centre of that giant ring laid out on her tray table, to sleep the rest of the way without even bothering to switch a screen on.

This is a TOFT pattern from the book ‘Edwards Menagerie: The new collection’. I thought she was so cute, and the wool for Edna was bought as a belated Christmas present. She now lives with her new crochet friends in my front living room.
