Found in the tropical forest of South America, the Resplendent Quetzal is a very significant symbol in Guatemalan culture – it is a symbol of goodness, light and freedom. To these ancient cultures the bird’s iridescent green tail feathers were symbols for spring plant growth, bringing hope of regeneration.
Jasper is a name associated with gemstones and in Hebrew means lord of jewels or keeper of the treasure.
This beautiful bird was 2021 Eds Advent Calendar from TOFT. I LOVED making Jasper, and not to mentioned crocheting with glass beads. The detail on this bird is exceptional and so pretty!
