Meet Amelia Earhart – an American aviation pioneer, best known for becoming the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932.
In 1937, she set out for the most monumental challenge of them all – to be the first woman to fly around the world. However, with 7000 miles left of the 29000 mile journey, her plane vanished over the Pacific Ocean.
This Amelia doll was released by TOFT as part of their inspirational women collection. I immediately fell in love with this doll, but little did I know my mum had bought it for me as a birthday present, along with a doll stand.
It took a while to make her, but I loved every step of the way, using different crochet techniques, especially for the fleece part of her jacket.
Amelia stands tall and proud in the heart of our home.
