This beautiful bird is a mixture of a birds that symbolise peace, hope, humility and love. These include:
– The fiery resurrected phoenix (symbol of rebirth and renewal).
– A delicate olive-branch-holding beak of a dove (symbol of peace).
– The silver shimmer of the alicanto (mythical nocturnal animal, whose feathers shine at night).
– The snow-white healing powers of the caladrius (Roman mythology – said to take sickness into itself and cure by flying away to the sun to burn it).
Aster was the result of TOFT Eds Advent Calendar 2022 – a crochet a long. This wonderful creation has allowed me to learn new skills, and to crochet with beads. The lovely bird twinkles in the lights of the Christmas tree, spreading its beauty throughout the room.
