We are a family who love Sonic, especially my brother. We were discussing about whether I could crochet him a Sonic the Hedgehog, but I could not find a pattern I liked, so I decided to make my own pattern to create this beautiful character.
It turned out to be a lot more challenging than I had expected……
I did a trial run of him, whilst I was creating the pattern, making sketches, notes and changes as I went along. Some parts of it were easier than others. Some took more attempts than others. The head spikes? Now that is a whole different ball game. I nearly gave up when I got onto these, but I persevered.
10 months later, the final product was completed, and I must say, I am over the moon with the results. There have been many generations of Sonic over the years, each with slightly different designs. I chose to go with the Dreamcast Sonic Adventure design.
It took a while to find yarn in the correct colours too, but I managed in the end:
Hayfield Bonus DK in sapphire, white, light grey mix, sunflower, ladybird, champagne and azure.
